About the White Mountain Adventure Institute
A meaningful life begins with alignment. When our values, purpose, and choices are aligned, we build healthier lives, stronger relationships, stronger organizations, and have a greater impact on the people we serve.
That philosophy is the foundation of the White Mountain Adventure Institute.
For much of my life, adventure has been one of my greatest teachers. It has challenged me to embrace uncertainty, step beyond my comfort zone, and do hard things that have shaped both my character and my leadership. Whether through climbing mountains, exploring remote places, leading organizations, or navigating life's unexpected transitions, I've learned that meaningful growth rarely happens without courage.
Today, I believe the greatest adventure isn't climbing a mountain—it's having the courage to align your life with your values, embrace change, and intentionally shape what comes next.
That belief guides everything we do at WMAI.
The White Mountain Adventure Institute is a leadership and human development institute dedicated to helping individuals and organizations navigate growth, change, and the next chapter of their journey. Through coaching, organizational consulting, leadership development, facilitated retreats, and immersive experiences in nature, we create space for reflection, meaningful conversation, and intentional action.
We believe lasting growth doesn't come from simply working harder. It comes from stepping back, gaining perspective, asking better questions, and aligning our lives and work with what matters most.
Our Work
Individuals
Life occasionally invites us to pause and ask deeper questions.
Am I living in alignment with what matters most?
Whether you're navigating a career transition, stepping into a new leadership role, preparing for retirement, or intentionally designing the next chapter of your life, WMAI provides coaching and retreat experiences that help you clarify your values, strengthen your purpose, and move forward with greater confidence and intention.
Organizations
Healthy organizations begin with healthy leadership.
We partner with executive teams, clinical leaders, business owners, nonprofits, therapeutic programs, and mission-driven organizations to strengthen leadership, improve communication, navigate change, facilitate strategic planning, and build cultures that reflect the values they aspire to live every day.
Whether through executive coaching, organizational consulting, leadership development, strategic retreats, or facilitated conversations, our work helps organizations align their mission, their people, and their daily practices so they can thrive over the long term.
Retreats & Facilitated Experiences
Located on a private 250-acre farm in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, WMAI offers a setting where individuals and organizations can step away from the demands of everyday life and reconnect with what matters most.
Our retreats blend thoughtful facilitation, meaningful conversation, time in nature, reflective practices, and practical planning. Participants leave not only refreshed, but with greater clarity, stronger relationships, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Nature isn't the destination—it's a partner in the process. It creates the perspective, quiet, and space that often allow our best thinking to emerge.
Our Approach
I don't believe meaningful growth comes from someone telling you what to do.
I believe it comes from creating the conditions where insight can emerge.
My role is to serve as a trusted thought partner—someone who listens deeply, asks thoughtful questions, challenges assumptions when appropriate, and brings nearly four decades of experience as a psychotherapist, executive leader, educator, entrepreneur, and coach to help individuals and organizations discover practical, authentic, and sustainable ways to move forward.
At WMAI, our goal isn't simply to solve today's challenges.
It's to help people and organizations create lasting alignment between their values, purpose, leadership, and actions.
Because when alignment is present, individuals flourish, organizations become healthier, relationships deepen, and our collective impact on the world grows stronger.
